My Project

We serve students ages 3-5 with mild to moderate autism; some are non-verbal. Sometimes they can experience overstimulation and big emotions. We help our students find ways to help regulate themselves and use calming strategies when they feel those big emotions and can not communicate with us. The boat will give them the option of a safe and calming way to help regulate their emotions. The ship provides gentle deep pressure and offers a comforting caressing hug, enabling a calming sense of security. The boat will also provide a way to calm any anxiety or stress in our students.
