My Students
I am a teacher who works with the preschool population. My students are both special needs students and typical students and are from the surrounding neighborhoods. The classroom that I teach in caters to both the typical and special needs students, primarily students with special needs and low income or migrant worker status.
My students range from 3 years old to 4 years old.
The Pre-K program strongly supports the learning and growth of social skills, communication skills, cognitive skills, and movement and fine motor skills.
My Project
I am requesting sensory and tactile learning materials in order to assist my students with learning! I have a class with some students who are labeled with a disability called Autism. Autism Spectrum Disorders can delay the growth and development of children. Many of the students in my class are learning to make improvements in their communication and social developmental skills.
The sensory and tactile materials requested are colorful and inviting.
These material are requested to enable the students to use their senses of sight, touch and smell. Students will be excited to see, use and learn with the materials requested.
The Alphabet Bubbles will allow my students to increase their language building skills. The light table simple word materials will assist with writing skills and occupational skills. The Tactile Numbers Match-Ups will allow the students to touch and hold puzzle pieces to enrich counting and number skills. The Dot Painters are all colorful and scented which is appealing to the senses and attractive to student curiosity. These are some of the great materials requested to help the student in my classroom with sensory and tactile skills.
