Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is the first year of traditional schooling. The goal in my kindergarten classroom is for students to learn social skills and fundamental basics of knowledge that will guide them through the next 12 or more years of school. Over half of my wonderful kindergarten students are learning English. Their diverse backgrounds make our classroom a wonderful place to be!
My rambunctious kindergartners are experiencing all the new thrills of school and are excited to learn new things each day.
My students come together each day with the same goal: to learn new things and create new friendships. They are excited about learning letters, numbers, and the foundations of reading and math!
My Project
My 20 kindergarten cuties love hands on learning opportunities, especially ones that involve fun, sensory satisfying materials. Each day, we have 3 rounds of language arts workstations, which allow for students to work independently with reading, phonics, and alphabet materials while the teacher works with a small group. This sensory table is a dire need for any kindergarten classroom because many 5 and 6 year olds have a great need for sensory play and learning.
We will use this sensory table, kinetic sand, and water beads for letter hunts, sight word digs, beginning sound matching, word building, and more.
This sensory table and materials would be a huge asset to our classroom. Not only can we use it during Language Arts, but we can also utilize it for math and science activities too! We would utilize in so many ways! Please consider supporting our classroom and help us get the sensory table we need!
