Mrs. Bloomer from Apex NC is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need STEM educational learning tools such as Dot and Dash Wonder Robots to learn coding skills, Playmags to experiment with architecture and design, as well as Snap Circuit sets to experiment with engineering.

What makes my students special? To this I say, "What doesn't?" In my world, all students are special. Each child comes from a different background but all for the same purpose: to grow socially and emotionally as individuals and to learn.
This year, I will be working with a diverse set of energetic, excited, and driven third grade students.
These students come primarily from middle to lower class families. They are a mix of ethnic backgrounds, including English Language Learners. Our school is located in a suburb of the capital of NC.
Teaching students to love learning is what I love to do!!
It is my goal as a classroom teacher to provide enriching activities for my students that are aligned with real world and 21st century skills. Each week, my students are given the opportunity to visit various enrichment stations. At these stations, I like to provide hands-on, engaging and stimulating opportunities that allow students to collaborate, use creativity, communicate with one another, and think critically.
It should be everyone's desire to propel our students towards success and to ensure that they are as adequately prepared for the future as others around the globe.
It is mine. In order to facilitate this growth, I am creating STEM station activities that are highly engagning and stimulating for students. Students will explore and use many STEM educational learning materials. One such material is the Dot and Dash Wonder Robots. These are robots that students can code, with an app and a tablet, to move around obstacle courses or even play music and speak. Another tool is called Playmags. These are different shaped magnetic tiles that allow children to experiment with architecture and design and create 3 dimensional structures. A final material that students will use is called Snap Circuits. Snap Circuits are electronic circuit pieces that will allow students to experiment with engineering as they figure out how to close a circuit and power different models such as a light bulb, doorbell, or a fan.
With these donated STEM tools, I will be providing my students with opportunities to use skills that they will one day use in the workforce and adulthood. It's never too early to teach students skills that will make a difference in their lives and lead to their success
