My Students

Our amazing Title-One school represents thirty different countries. Each student brings with them culturally diverse perspectives. This broad scholastic tapestry enhances both the artistic and academic climate in our learning time. We LOVE the performing arts and are excited to complete our third musical performance!! Together we build bridges of understanding through the integrated and performing arts.

We believe that anything's possible for our kiddos!

They are capable, courageous, and committed to creating their own unique expression. They are simply passionate about performing arts and they come to life playing instruments, singing, dancing, and acting.

Given the low socio-economic standing of our students, experience with the arts and performing arts is extremely narrow, however. As such, our goal as educators is to help students make more connections with their expressive voice through artistic outlets. Our school values the STEAM concepts that can enrich learning. We understand that through integrated arts powerful learning ensues. Consequently, we witness as our students flourish both academically and emotionally.

My Project

Your donation will make all of the difference in our students' learning success on stage. It will help facilitate crucial student learning found in the arts core curriculum. Seussical costuming will afford students the opportunity to more authentically analyze and interpret music and characters, giving unique voice to their individual roles and ensemble works.

Students' imaginations will come to life as they experiment with colorful, creative costuming and lighting.

They will more readily catch the vision of character roles of our magical land of Seuss with costumes representing The Cat In The Hat, Hortin the Elephant, the mischievous monkeys, kangaroos, and turtles, creating their own expressive performance.

Additionally, our Seussical musical will foster social emotional learning-- students will focus and gain intrinsic motivation. Students will find social comfort in participating together and in individual roles. They will find greater ease of movement-the physical ability to move and the desire to try to move through our Seussical story and develop a love for expressing through song. This experience will allow them to broaden their spatial and sequential reasoning and heighten their musical capacity.
