My classroom is unique, and I teach a life skills class. Each of my students is gifted in their own beautiful ways. My students have learning difficulties, but they are amazing, incredible learners. Our classroom is set up differently than most classrooms to better meet the needs of our students. In my classroom, we do stations so that my students are in very small groups. In this way, we are better able to meet the needs of each learner. We often need materials that my students and their families are unable to afford.
My Project
My classroom has many students who have sensory possessing issues. In order to help regulate these issues, my students are able to take sensory breaks. A hammock pod chair would allow my students to relieve stress by gently swinging in a soft, comfortable and safe way.
In my classroom, we have three classroom computers for students to use to work on academic tasks, and my students would benefit from colorful stools to sit on as they have the opportunity to use the computer.
During circle time, several of my students are fidgety, and the chair band would allow my students to move their legs without distracting others.
