I am an ESE Pre-K teacher. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be called, "teacher." I began my first year of teaching this year and gained so many experiences that taught me what my professional and personal goals are in this field. I met my students, and I fell in love with each of them. I have gotten to know so much about them and to build a special bond.
My students are each unique, humorous, kind, curious, innovative, and thriving.
They each have different learning needs that we work on daily. I individualize my instruction to meet the needs of each student in my classroom. Their age ranges are from 3-5. Our number of students ranges from 1-9 in order to keep the appropriate ratio to enhance our students' learning and to meet their needs.
My students work hard each and every day and love coming to school. I have learned as much from them as they have from me. They bring joy into my life and thanks to them, I have found my answer to the question, "Why do you teach?"
When you visit my classroom and meet one of my students, you have met one of my students. My classroom is made up of unique individuals who have many different personalities and learning needs. One need that I never realized before I became an Early Childhood teacher is "Sensory Needs." I never realized that children have many different sensory preferences and needs that can be supported within the classroom. We completed a project with the same materials in the past and they have been so successful that we want to add additional sensory room tiles and fluorescent light filters to continue this support around the room, and to have it available to more students during a social-distancing time.
