I am one of two special education teachers at a charter school in Indiana. We provide services to about 50 students in a kindergarten through 12th grade environment. We service students with emotional, cognitive, and learning disabilities in all subject areas.

I have several students who need sensory breaks throughout the day due to their disability. These items will allow my students to have a better focus in the classroom and the ability to complete their class work with a higher level of concentration.

I am asking for several different sensory items since each child requires something different and children love choices. In my material I have included pencil grips to help while writing. I have asked for touch and feel items to help with concentration. I have also asked for calming items that students can watch.

With your donation, you will provide my students with the sensory breaks that they so desperately need. These will truly make a difference in their lives today, tomorrow, and in the future.
