I have a wonderful group of special needs children who range from Kindergarten to fifth grade. They have many challenges but work hard to compensate for those. Many come from unstable backgrounds and just need someone to love them and make them feel important. Their disabilities are varied- including autism, intellectional impairments, physical impairments, and behavioral needs. They show great courage coming to school every day and working on ways to become happy and productive adults. I couldn't ask for a better group of kids!
My Project
My students have many sensory difficulties, including handling light and noise, and keeping their bodies still. These materials will help them to settle their bodies down so they can learn. These kids try very hard to learn but just need some assistance to be ready to learn.
The stack stools and balance ball seats will help them to adjust their bodies according to their needs.
The light covers give them a calming environment. The bubble tube is something that would be used to induce a calming state when they are upset. Your help would be very much appreciated and would make a big difference for these wonderful kids.
