Kindergarten is such an exciting time for my little kiddos to blossom into lifelong learners. I have so much passion for teaching and nothing brings me more joy than being with my Kindergarten students! Our Kindergarten students returning to a Hybrid learning model have many different needs. They are a diverse group of learners coming from many different backgrounds. We have students that are in the ESL program learning English as their second language. In addition to students with IEP's, students with Autism and developmental delays.
The Kindergarten students surprise me with their eagerness to learn, empathy, and determination each and every day!
All of our students are simply exceptional and deserve the sensory materials that they need to be successful during this difficult year.
My Project
Starting Kindergarten is exciting and can be a stressful time for all students. This year has proven to be even more stressful due to the pandemic. Our students are coming in with many fears, and unknowns about the world. Many of our students' sensory needs are so great that before any kind of learning can take place, they will require a sensory break. These materials will help our students be more calm and ready to learn!
Each and every Kindergarten student will have their own sensory bucket with materials to help them engage in learning throughout the school day!
These buckets will include fidgets, Bubble trackers to help students with visual tracking, squish toys, and building materials for break time. We are so grateful that DonorsChoose.org provides a way for us teachers to express our educational needs.
