This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us learn about Science! The most exciting subject for most of my students and we have limited resources.

Our second grade classroom consists of 5 girls and 20 boys.

Our school is considered high poverty. I have a large number of boys in my classroom this year that are very unmotivated to read. My students are very spirited and have the desire to learn.

My Project

A Science learning center will help my students become motivated to read. We are desperately lacking Science materials and with all the cuts in education teachers are on their own. These materials will help to capture my students excitement to read. It is so important to capture their interest now and get them on grade-level so that they do not fall further behind. I am requesting a Read About Science learning center and a storage rack.

Science opens up another world for students.

It teaches them about things they never thought existed or were possible. Open up the world to my students. Show that that anything is possible.
