Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn and come to school everyday. They are working hard to master grade-level standards, but they need some extra support to succeed. I want them to have the best possible chances for success in Second grade and beyond. In order to do this, I need to provide more hands-on practice in our learning centers.
These spectacular second grade scholars are in need of centers materials.
These materials will be used to help my students with their reading and math fluency.
My Project
These manipulatives will give my students hands-on practice during literacy and math centers. The fluency passages will be used with timers during our literacy block. Students will be able to read a passage on their independent reading level and see how many words they can read per minute. This will help them increase their fluency and set goals for the learning. The math centers are place-value focused as this is one of the biggest standards covered in second grade.
Centers are an important part of my literacy and math block and these materials are both engaging and educational!
