This project is geared towards my seniors. These kids walked out of my room not knowing they would never return. These are acrylic painted ceiling tiles that stay in the room forever! This year's seniors will be leaving a very special mark.
This year's seniors are making history.
They will forever be remembered as the class that left too soon. The ones who had their memories cut short.
My Project
This project is something I have done for 10 years straight. My high school seniors paint a 24"x24" celling tile with whatever subject they choose. These tiles get installed in the ceiling of my classroom and will stay there for as long as the art room exists. They must submit a plan to get approval and then I pass out supplies.
This year, the seniors weren't able to begin this project.
My plan is to communicate electronically to help with their plan and then deliver their supplies so they can work at home. I don't want them to miss out on this memorable project. These tiles are by far the students' favorite part of our building. Future Art students will see them daily and they will continue to spark conversations about the elements of art and even questions about what that artist was like as a student.
