I work at a low economic school where most students are on free/reduced lunch. In my 11 years of teaching, I have had students that come from single-parent homes, are in and out of foster care, and often come to school not prepared due to their home life.
Every morning, my students were greeted with a hug, high-five, or a dance!
I would try to make my students feel that my classroom is a safe environment. My students are the joy of my day. Due to the pandemic, I have not seen my students in person. My students are learning from home. Some are using technology while others come to pick up packets from school.
My Project
I will use these materials to create and send out homemade postcards to bring joy in the hearts of my students. I will also use these items to create inspirational signs that will bring love to my students. Finally, I will use these materials to create fun and exciting hands-on learning for my students that need some love and fun during this time.
