Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Apart from having disabilities, my students with special needs are impacted by poverty. They live in a high poverty area of Los Angeles. Their parents are immigrants with low or no income and with communication issues since they do not speak English.
My students are severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
They are in crowded homes without the means to keep a sanitary living environment. In addition, they do not have engaging educational resources to assist them in creative learning.
My Project
Homes become a breeding ground for germs as everyone is home bound. Parents need a variety of cleaning supplies to ward of infection. Toilet paper is diminishing daily and supplies disappear quickly from store shelves. Facial tissues are needed to block those runny noses. The windows and floors need to be sanitized. After homes are thoroughly cleaned kids can settle down and use the Art paper and paints and art supplies to create their masterpieces. Parents will engage their children in learning to clean their workplaces and living spaces to facilitate good health and learning.
