Help me give my students incentives in the mail during our virtual learning by receiving online gift card codes and gift cards in the mail to help them stay engaged, connected, and focused.
My students are a unique group of kids who come from a wide range of experiences. We are a Title I district where most of the students come from low-income households. The transient rate is also the highest in our district than it has ever been. The challenges these students and families are facing do not stop them from actively joining and tackling the challenges of virtual learning. Even though we are still virtual, we are impatiently awaiting the opportunity to return back to the brick and mortar classroom setting.
Distance adds additional challenges, and now more than ever we are living in a digital world where it is imperative to connect to our students to continue to accomplish sufficient growth gains.
My Project
Due to the unprecedent times during this pandemic our district is virtual. As I continue to implement lessons, I struggle to find the a way to help motivate my students without that in person contact.
I would love to send my students rewards for their hard work and effort to help them stay engaged, connected, and focused.
During this time, many students aren't always actively engaged and/or motivated in daily lessons.
My solution to help keep the momentum going is to motivate my students with mailing them gift cards and gift card codes under a scratch off. How much fun is that?
The gift cards will be sent using postage on envelopes and scratch offs to award students who are present and actively engaged in the lessons. In the classroom, I have a reward system, usually weekly and monthly prizes. Since this isn't an option for virtual learning, the gift cards are something that I can mail directly to my students. With these envelopes and stamps, I can have weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly incentives, which will motivate them to try, ask for help, and be engaged in their own learning.
