My Students

I have the privilege of teaching students in every grade level in my school. Through my technology lab, we use technology in a way that enhances the curriculum and allows students hands-on application.

My students are filled with energy and are so hungry to learn.

They come into my Tech Lab in great anticipation to discover the great things that we will work on! They soak in information and get so excited about knowledge. I teach in a Title I school which contains low-income families. Every student in my school receives free breakfast and lunch. I take each opportunity to provide my students with the best experiences possible.

My Project

I would like to attend the Pathfinders Institute in Indiana this summer. I would be attending the Maker Educator Collective Bootcamp where I could learn skills and model lessons using hands-on engineering and design challenges, digital manufacturing, microcontrollers and electronics and a variety of other inexpensive low- and high-tech materials and equipment. I will leave with enough resources and skills to be comfortable engaging my students in making when school starts. I would be thinking about and exploring maker pedagogy related to assessment, connecting with content standards, designing for accessibility, documentation, and storytelling. The knowledge that I would gain would be great to have for the next school year.
