This year, the 5th graders at our school have the opportunity to head to the heart of the redwoods in California for the biggest adventure of their elementary school careers!
Our school is a Title I school and does not have enough funds to pay for this trip.
We need your help to make it happen.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are hardworking and enthusiastic about learning. However, due to their families' financial status and situation, many do not have the opportunity to travel or engage in activities that will increase their background knowledge of the world.
Students will stay in warm, cozy cabins at YMCA Camp Campbell for 4 days and 3 nights. While there, our students will experience the thrills of nature through hands-on lessons and activities, go on hikes, engage in composting and gardening, build teamwork skills, gain independence, develop an understanding of their role in the environment, and just have fun.
Attending science camp will foster a deeper love and appreciation for nature and the outdoors, increase students' understanding of scientific concepts, and develop positive character traits such as responsibility, respect, and cooperation.
Your donation will enable students to enjoy this wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
