Help me give my students the finishing touches on their new "Reflection Area" that we are creating! These items are the last pieces needed to make their area complete!
Many of my students are labeled high-risk, receive Free and Reduced Lunch, are English Language Learners (ELL), come from low socioeconomic households, and have trouble in school. Being able to engage them in mathematics through the use of differentiated instruction is a wonderful way to get them involved and excited about the learning process.
The majority of my students cannot afford their own supplies, so I want to make sure that all of my students are receiving the same education.
One way to ensure their success is to supply my students with quality materials. Any assistance you can offer in making learning accessible and enjoyable to my 7th grade Math students would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
My Project
Students feel empowered by having choice and control over their environment. Providing multiple areas in the room for students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed.
These items will be the finishing touches to our brand new “Reflection Area.” Research shows that reflecting on actions has a huge benefit in increasing self-awareness and is a key component in emotional intelligence and understanding how our actions effect ourselves and others.
Reflecting also helps you to develop creative thinking skills and encourages active engagement in work processes.
When the "Reflection Area" is not being used for "reflection" it will also be available to students to use during classwork or homework time in class! I know my students are going to love sitting in this beautiful area while they work on their homework.
The carpet will help define the space. The fake tree will help create a calming environment. The zen garden will be perfect for students to use if they want to quiet their mind. The throw pillow will help the area feel more homey. Once we purchase these supplies our Reflection Area will be 100% complete and ready for student enjoyment!
I am so excited to create this beautiful space for my students to enjoy this year and many years to come!
