Help me give my students dresses, neckties, dress shirts and hair bows to wear during awards day ceremonies. Homeless students will have proper attire to wear as they are recognized for academic achievement.

A study completed by the National Center states that 37,791 of Georgia students have experienced homelessness at some period of time during the 2016-17 school year. As a school, we are most aware of the homeless student’s population because 22% of our students are currently homeless. Despite being homeless, these students work harder than most students towards learning all academic subjects. Our homeless students are loving and ready to learn notwithstanding the emotional roller coaster due to their living condition. These students are often not prepared for school because of not having school supplies. However, when given the tools they need to succeed, they are able to match the academic level of our highest performing students.
All students at the Tiger School are happy, eager to learn and nurturing towards one another.
These students show greatness every day as they fight their way through life misfortunes through embracing their studies. They are mindful of achievement and often discuss end of the year awards programs. Never knowing their school or location these students and their parents ask if we can prepare them for programs with proper dress attire. The school and community love on our homeless population.
If funded, this grant will provide homeless students with neckties, dress shirts, dresses and hair bows for academic award programs. These students’ lives will change as they embrace the opportunity to participate in awards programs due to the kindness of others. Students will feel a sense of pride as they have less worries about what they will wear because of their homelessness situation. Students will push themselves academically throughout the school year to ensure their place and recognition during the awards program.
Students will work harder than normal on academic subjects and place more efforts on their studies throughout the school year because of the end results.
The goal of wanting to achieve will become first and foremost as these student scholars are excited to wear new attire to a program that recognizes their academic achievements. Students’ lives will be shaped as their belief system is tied to their ability to learn through knowing that academic success yields great results and awards.
