Hooray! This project is fully funded

I am the art teacher at P.S. 251, in East Flatbush, NY. Our school has the honor of being a P.S. ART winner, for a painting made in class by one of my students. This year I want to build on this success, and give all my students the opportunity to be winners, whether in a contest, or through their personal achievement. I plan to conduct a school wide self portrait project and need the materials to make it happen. Through this project I hope to teach art fundamentals, including drawing, proportion and color mixing, using different media for different age groups. Additionally, I hope to foster a sense of community by filling the school with images of our children, and encouraging them to take pride in their work, appreciate the work of others and value their differences. We are a title 1 school, with limited resources. I hope for about 200 students to participate in this project, so we will need help buying child safe mirrors, paper, pastels, clay, and framing materials. These resources will allow participating children to create and exhibit their art, and to be real artists.
