My students are from a rural, southern Louisiana area. They are eager to learn new things and know the importance of a great education. Students range in ages from 11-14 years old, which is the most important age for building a lifelong foundation for the love of learning.
These students are aware of the ever-growing need for a college degree.
Cooperative learning groups help my students to retain information longer. The benefits of collaborating with peers are endless. The skills acquired through socializing are beneficial to everyone.
My Project
My students would love to have a variety of seats in the classroom. We could use a few task chairs for collaboration at the round table, and some others to place around the room for comfort when reading.
Choice seating is important in order to help the students to feel comfortable in the classroom.
Today's classrooms are becoming more and more about collaboration. Students must be prepared to collaborate in whatever career they choice as an adult. We are basically preparing students for careers that do not even exist yet. Please help to make our students' classrooms inviting and safe also with rugs a radio.
