Help me give my students a healthy outlet for their emotions. This project seeks to provide students with healthier and safer opportunities to release energy and aggression while building relationships with staff

"Literacy is reading the world" ~ P. Friere
As a Special Education teacher in a Title I school, I have been blessed with the opportunity to support and guide students as they learn to love learning.
It has always been my approach to bring the world into my classroom to inspire my students to approach their education as a great adventure!
My students are kindergarten students who have been identified as needing extra love when it comes to social and emotional learning. In our classroom, I teach and we learn through STEM challenges, researched-based strategies and the integration of technology while still meeting the academic, psychological social-emotional needs of every individual student. The ultimate goal of my early childhood classroom is to inspire my students to be the best student and person he/she can possibly be!
These materials will be used in conjunction with the mentoring and emotional regulation work our program is currently doing with students who have a history of trauma, and are looking for a healthy and safe outlet for their energy. With these materials, students will be working with trained staff to exercise and use their body to help regulate their emotions through the use of a punching bag. Without this equipment, students are being asked to regulate their bodies without the benefit of materials and supplies that provide students with a safe alternative to fighting and aggression towards other students and staff.
