This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 21 kindergarten students with mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students are very tech-savvy. They are fearless when it comes to technology and I want to provide them with the resources they need to explore technology. We have 2 student computers in the classroom and they would be very excited to have iPads in our classroom. I can see the smiles on their faces now!
My students are curious, enthusiastic, and creative.
They learn best through play, and with iPads they will feel like they are playing while actually learning. They will be able to expand their creativity through the use of SeeSaw.
My Project
Having technology in the classroom is not to replace a great teacher, but a combination of a great teacher and constructive classroom technology usage can result to great education. It simply makes sense to integrate technology in the classroom since it has become so integral to the world outside of the classroom and todays students are accustomed to it.
With these iPads, I can empower students and engage parents through SeeSaw.
Seesaw empowers students to independently document their learning and provides an audience for their work, their peers, parents, or the world. SeeSaw gives parents an immediate and personalized window into their child's school day. I can use the drawing tool to send word problems to my students, use the text feature to add prompts, emojis, and the record feature to add a recording or even record students reading.
