My Students
My first graders attend a great school in Northern California. The school that I work for is in a high-poverty area. Some of my students face the normal things that are often associated with poverty. These obstacles do not impact their love for school. My students love to learn new things and are very excited about learning how to read.
I am very happy that I work at a school where the staff really believes that all students can achieve academic success with the right support and mindset.
My Project
My 1st graders are becoming strong readers, and need access to more books. My students love reading books, and often borrow classroom books to read at home.
Our classroom also needs to be restocked with some basic classroom supplies.
We need cleaning wipes to keep the desks and other surface areas clean. My students also need erasers. The ones on the ends of the pencils seem to disappear in two days. My students also need sheet protectors to protect their memory books which we create at the end of the school year, as well as other learning reference tools that need to be protected. I also need some whiteboard markers.
