My students need a rug to sit on during floor time. They have a hard time sitting the perfect distance from each other.
Have you ever been in a classroom where the teacher has a floor rug? It creates a perfect learning space for floor time.
My students come from all walks of life.
They are smart, funny, and curious about the world around us. We are at a charter school in Utah which works to instill International Baccalaureate traits such as caring, knowledgeable, thinkers, and communication. We work with the knowledge that the world is global and our actions matter.
Having a rug for floor time provides the students with a perfect space all their own. It helps with classroom management, listening skills, and creating a safe environment for the students.
I will be able to read to them while they are on the floor, we can take math notes on the floor, and do interactive writing. Any time I can get them out of their seats and on the floor is better. Second graders still need variety and can't sit in one place for that long.
This rug would impact my class this year and in the future.
This is a donation that would go on for years. It will positively impact the students and our ability to be comfortable and safe in our classroom. Thank you for reading our project.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
