Help me give my students flexible seating options, such as Leaniture Wobble Stools, CanDo Donut seats and balance discs to help them move, interact and foster a comfortable, active learning environment.
My eagerly active First Grade students are full of smiles. Everyday they love to come to school seeking interactions with their peers and teacher.
The school day is long for these young, motivated learners.
Therefore, they benefit from multiple activities that can be completed in different parts of the room with smooth transitions provided through songs or with fun chants. The different songs, chants and activities help break up the students' day. These strategies help keep my First Graders engaged and fosters their appreciation towards their school environment.
My Project
First graders are very energetic learners. By giving my students the flexibility to select different seating arrangements they will have the opportunity to pick out the best active place in their classroom that meets their learning needs. Currently, my students choose different locations around the room by sitting on the floor with clipboards or use different desks to complete tasks to interact with their peers.
Having a comfortable, flexible spot to learn will provide movement to strengthen students' muscles and help to keep them engaged in their learning.
The CanDo Inflatable seats will help students quietly work while improving balance and core strength without disturbing others. While the Learniture stools allow my students to select a backless chair and will encourage them to use proper posture while strengthening their muscles. As for the seat cushions, this will give the students the opportunity to sit at their desk while providing slight movement and comfort.
The flexible seating choices will stimulate my First Graders to value choice and become actively engaged. This will foster their movement and help focus their enthusiasm to become life long learners!
