I work in a New York City public school in Staten Island. My 205 students are made up of diverse cultures and backgrounds. These motivated students have various levels and learning styles which at times, makes it very challenging to get through to each of them. The levels of learners range from special education students to honors level students. My goal is to help the struggling students, as well as provide enrichment to the students who perform at higher levels. Despite their differences, they are all eager to learn and they are the reason I love coming to work each and every day!
My Project
Almost all of the lessons in my classroom require students to look at artifacts or pictures of items from the past. Our classroom currently has a black and white printer. Although seeing these images in black and white is still exciting, I know my students would LOVE to see these objects in color. This will mostly benefit my special needs students who are visual learners.
Color printing will bring images from the past back to life!
This will make the students more engaged and help make learning about them more exciting.
Please help us to see the past as realistic as possible and give us the opportunity to see these artifacts as they really are!
