Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Where to start... Our school is in the middle of a low-income semi-rural area in Southern California and our students come from diverse backgrounds.

My students are funny, curious, inquisitive, energetic, and full of outrageous & creative ideas.

They brighten up my day!

They push me to become better at my subject matter every day through their questions and they teach me so much about life through their stories and their examples. I feel lucky to be able to call myself their teacher.

I am here because I want to bring more resources and tools to my students. These tools will help me teach the students in different ways so that every student in the classroom becomes more engaged in their education.

My Project

Magnetic fields are an important topic in our 8th grade science class, however, the subject is abstract and many students have a hard time grasping the concept.

The materials requested will help my students create a couple of labs where they can actually get a visual representation of a magnetic field and make what can otherwise be a frustrating topic, a fun, and engaging activity.

These labs will also help the students understand this topic much more in depth and will help them do better in the class and on their state testing. In addition, they will be able to carry this knowledge to their high school physics class.
