We start teaching technology in Kindergarten at our school and the kids love it. While the focus is keyboarding and online test skills, we still manage to introduce coding and graphic arts. We also did 3D modeling last year and I would love to extend those models so the kids can view them in Augmented Reality.
We are a neighborhood school, so I see my kids in the neighborhood, and whenever I go shopping.
The parents love to see that the kids are staying up to date with all the new technology that is now available to them.
My Project
With these merge cubes, my students will be able to view their 3D models in Augmented Reality. Last year we used TinkerCAD in my K-8 classes to create three-dimensional models and scenes. This year, I would like to extend that learning by having the students use Ipads to project their models onto the merge cube, allowing them to view them in Augmented Reality. Learning how to view objects that are usually untouchable with Augmented Reality will open up a whole new world of learning and possibilities for my technology students.
