Mrs. Houston from Hyannis MA is requesting Classroom Basics through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

Seeing Science

Help me give my students some visual posters that they can use as references when preparing for their IB exam! These will be used as additional resources to help them become familiar with the content.

My Students

My students in Cape Cod come from a variety of backgrounds including from low income families. My students are eager to earn their IB diploma and for this reason they are often very self motivated. The textbook they have been issued does not have a lot of pictures. I hope to use these materials to help them visualize the topics that we study. My students exhibit a range of learning preferences including many students who love to use pictures to help them understand. This will be an excellent addition to our classroom!

My Project

Posters are an excellent way to enhance students knowledge and understanding of various concepts. The topics that we cover can be very abstract so having a colorful visual to can be helpful especially to my visual learners. I plan to put these posters up as we study each topic and to allow students to use them in class by adding comments by using index cards. They can also take pictures of them and use them as a study reference. They will be hung in the classroom for students to access for the duration of the time that we are studying the topic.
