I have been a teacher for 20 years. I am currently teaching science to 84 students each. My students come from many backgrounds and mostly live in a poverty stricken environment. However, these students are thoughtful and caring.
My 5th graders are extremely helpful when it comes to technology, classroom chores, and keeping each other on track.
They are "teachers" for myself as well as each other. It is not out of the ordinary for my students to get me out of a technological snag on any given day. They help keep our classroom running smoothly. These students learn best with hands on activities and are visual learners.
My Project
This project will enable my students to create and print science reports, diagrams, and models in color that would not be available otherwise. Students will better organize their information, notes, models, and diagrams by adding vibrant colors to their interactive notebooks. My students will get the opportunity to create work they can be proud of and "show off". Students will be able to insert colorful clipart, graphs, and anything else that applies to their daily learning.
With a colored printer, my students will be eager to participate in their own learning, creating, and take proud ownership of their creations.
Students become excited and eager to get busy when technology is involved in their academics. Having a colored printer will increase their desire to display their work.
