Help me give my students a diverse and inclusive library full of stories that reflect how they look, how they learn and how they feel! My students will use these books to think critically about their life.
I have an amazing group of 25 caring, inquisitive and very energetic first graders. Throughout our day we can be mathematicians, engineers, writers, readers, and scientists! I try and support the unique learning style of each student and believe that if they feel comfortable in our classroom they will be able to grow and learn in amazing ways.
Creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all of my students will allow them to work to their full potential.
Students relish the opportunity to choose their own learning space. By allowing students to make choices in how they approach different activities at school they learn to self-regulate, take responsibility for their learning and becoming more confident learners.

My Project
Today's classrooms are made up of learners with diverse backgrounds. It is so important that teachers and educators help students to respect one another and make an effort to learn about each other's cultures. The stories of diversity teach valuable lessons of respect and understanding.
Quality children's books help to create a sense of tolerance and respect for other students.
