Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are fourth graders who are anxious to learn. The school is located in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Our students are from different cultures and economic backgrounds. Students attend class daily to learn things that are new and fascinating. It is my job to see that it happens. About half of my students are performing below grade level in reading and math.

I love how my students are yearning to learn new things.

They are inquisitive and enjoy when new opportunities and experiences are presented to them.

My Project

Students will be intrigued to see how items such as bee pollen, ants and cotton look magnified 20 times its normal size. The USB Digital Microscope is sure to get a lot of accountable talk rolling. Students will write in their journals about their observations.

Increasing my students vocabulary is a priority on my goals this school year.

I am working to improve vocabulary and work attack skills during 4th grade which in return will help to increase reading scores.

By using the games in centers as well as whole group activities it will be a sure way to attract the attention of students at all levels .
