My Students

This year, I have the amazing opportunity to teach Kindergarten students. They are very eager learners and enjoy activities in a small group setting. I work closely with the other 3 Kindergarten teachers at my school, and we utilize our resources to meet the needs of all of our Kindergarten students.

We use project-based learning that incorporates state grade level standards.

Our school is Nationally & State STEM certified. We combine a rigorous curriculum with real world experiences.

My class has a wide range of student abilities, which include gifted, ESOL, special needs, and general education. These students will grow up together and develop a great sense of compassion towards one another.

My Project

The whiteboard in our classroom is an essential part of daily learning. A new document camera would help me continue using our whiteboard as a way to model activities for my students and to get them more actively involved. One way I would use a document camera is to show students examples with math materials. They could come up and add, subtract, sort, or manipulate the materials in another way that could be seen easily by the whole class.

I would display poems, books, or other written information for students to interact with in a more meaningful way during reading time.

We could circle or underline letters, sounds, rhyming words, and more.
