This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third graders are a fabulous group of students. They always try hard to absorb and learn the math concepts that I am teaching them. They love to work in groups and by themselves. They also don't hesitate to ask for help when they need it.

I would like to provide more visual manipulatives and visual charts to strengthen our math time.

There are two ways that I would like to support my students with this. First, my students need Anchor charts from Teacher's Pay Teachers. These Anchor Charts reflect the concept that I am teaching. I can purchase charts for the exact concept that I have just covered. I have some in my classroom that I created, but they are not as eye catching and specific as the ones I could purchase on TPT. Second, I would like to purchase actual visual manipulatives that will reinforce the concept I just taught. After I am done with a lesson, I work in small groups with my students that still need additional help. My other students complete the work by themselves and have their math pages checked by a fellow peer. If I had visual charts (or anchor charts) up around the room, there would be reminders of the concepts I just introduced. The visual manipulatives would still be up for the students to refer to as well. I feel these additional supports would help my students be more successful with the lesson and remember the concepts better too.
