My Students

My school is located in rural Alabama. We are a Title I school and our district supports 8 schools. Funding is just not there for extra items needed. With COVID-19, we are even more limited with our funds.

My students have a zeal for learning, we just need the equipment to do it.

They are excited about learning and try so very hard. All of my students are in special education and we work really hard to keep them focused on learning. They already face so many trials in their education, and proper equipment should not be one of them.

My Project

My students are very visual learners. They need to see what they are learning for reinforcement. Being able to use the teaching cart to display the stuff they need throughout the day will help them in so many ways. It will also help me show them stuff if we end up in quarantine and I am having to teach them from my home. Visuals are so important for a student's learning. When we do our phonics lessons, I repeat all the letters/sounds we have learned up to this point. Having this cart will allow me to just add to what is already there without having to take them down every day.
