Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students often tell me that they like it when we have a lab day…I love hearing that!
So many of my students come to school with a full plate of things that young individuals shouldn’t have to deal with.
Creating a safe, respectful and enjoyable learning environment for them to be in is what they need and deserve. My students are awesome and love to engage in labs where they can actually apply the knowledge they’ve learned in class. New microscopes can be a great way to give them the opportunity to continue learning and growing in an enjoyable way.
My Project
My alternative high school students come to school with a multitude of outside distractions. Getting them to stay focused and engage in fun, realistic learning opportunities is what I love most about teaching science.
Microscopes take the animated images in their textbooks to the next level.
My students are always surprised at what they see through the lens of a microscope. Not only will they master the proper usage of dependable lab equipment such as a microscope, but they also learn how to work with others in a positive learning environment.
Hands-on activities such as these help students retain knowledge that they learn in biology!
