In my class of 2nd graders, we have lots of little minds that are yearning to grow, much like a garden of flowers and vegetables! I want to give my students the tools they need to learn to grow, nurture and learn about the world around them.
With these gardening materials, my students will be able to grow a garden all their own.
We will use these tools to do science, math, reading and writing. With their science skills they will learn how to care for and grow plants. In math, we will track and graph our garden plants growth. We will also read about the best ways to be successful gardeners and write about our experiences. When the plants are all grown, we will research what we can do to cook the veggies or display our flowers.
My students will get so many hands-on experience with this project funded! I can't wait to see it happen.
