Our school in Gorham is a fast growing community, between urban cities and rural towns. Teachers, and families and the community work together to create a learning environment for all students. Students work hard with traditional reading and writing. Oral sharing and participating is a big part of the daily activities in a classroom.
As a technology integrator, I look for the best pieces of technology and tech ideas and share those with teachers and their students to boost their teaching and learning.
I work with all of the elementary classrooms, kindergarten through grade five, in the three elementary schools in Gorham. I encourage the thoughtful use of technology and the easing of teacher comfort and the integration of these new ideas. This project will potentially impact the 509 students at Great Falls School.
My Project
Students can make recordings of many learning opportunities throughout their day - to share with their teacher, share with other students, and with their families, or to watch and learn at home.
With a tripod as an extra hand to hold the camera, students can more easily make recordings in the classroom and all their learning spaces.
Sometimes seeing and hearing a lesson just one time isn't enough. This equipment will facilitate recordings that students can watch again later, or students at home can watch, and be included in the classroom.
