My Students

My students amaze me every day. Their resilience and ability to see the world in a different light inspires me and those around them. As students with Autism, obsessive compulsive disorder, significant behavior disorders, and learning disabilities, these special students don't let anything hold them back.

Their desire to learn and grow is no different from their same aged peers.

I have watched these students struggle to learn and adapt to new challenges within their academic settings but they do so with enthusiasm and an energy that is palpable.

My Project

All of my students are on the Autism Spectrum. I teach a special program that is designed to help meet each students individual needs academically, socially, behaviorally, and sensory. My students struggle to manage the sensory input that comes at them while they are outside on fieldtrips or even just to a restaurant. Being able to experience their world virtually from the safety of their classroom will open their world perspective as well as give them the ability to practice with the sights, sounds and other sensory triggers they may experience in the real world from the safety of their classroom.
