My Students

Our high school students are incredible creators! Many of my students love to write, play music, sing, act, and engage in community service. Several students describe Digital Journalism class as a place of therapy and liberation from the everyday concerns that can be extremely demanding and depleting from time to time.

Due to my students' overall appreciation of the arts and humanities, it is a necessary goal to offer them space and the opportunity to continue creating and expressing their unique world perspectives.

My Project

A couple of Instax cameras and some film to go with it will allow all members of our school's student body to check out a camera, take a picture of a school-related event they have participated in or experienced, and then share with their point of view with the entire school.

The creative uses for these cameras are literally endless.

I am envisioning picture contests, moments at school-related events captured in time, and even picture-based scavenger hunts. No matter the purpose, these cameras will be put to good use by not just some, but ALL of the students in our school.
