My Students

Our school is anything but basic. We are one of the oldest schools in Southern Nevada and as such we carry with us the traditions and history of Nevada itself. Unlike the rest of Las Vegas and Henderson, our school has seen it all because we have been through it all. We are a generational school, which means that students that attend are following in the footsteps of their parents, grandparents and even great grandparents. Even our staff consists of many teachers who graduated from this school. We have an amazingly diverse student body where no one group dominates any other. We are every color under the sun and every income from the wealthy to the homeless. This is a special school.

My Project

I need a cart and batteries to carry out community events for our kids. Every year, our school hosts two community events that involve shows, food, music, games and interaction with parents, teachers, neighbors, law enforcement and local businesses. They are designed to help students understand that it isn't just the school that wants them to graduate and be successful but the entire community is behind them.

We create these team building events so students realize they can network with future employers, feel more at ease asking for help in a crisis, and learn they are not alone.
