This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our public school serves an at-risk population, in an urban setting. My classroom is part of the initiative to prepare scholars for the rigor that they are becoming a part of in the world today.
I want to be able to give my scholars the boost that they need to love learning and become productive members of society.
School should be a safe place, where children love to come every day and find out where the journey will take them to next.
My Project
Our school has remained virtual for this school year. I wanted to give my class a hands-on experience where I can. I have been using my home printer and I run out of ink before you can turn around. I want to keep giving my students interesting printable learning games to manipulate.
About once a month, sometimes more, I drop off bags of activities to the porches of my scholars.
I want to continue this effort until we go back in person. There is no specific date; it depends upon the health metrics in the region. Until then, help me show them the beauty in color.
