How can we as teachers better serve our students which are economically disadvantaged students? Our goal and mission statement is by providing an exceptional education that prepares all students for college, career, and life.
With this being said we need material that most schools already have, while we have a small limited budget, it is difficult to buy everything for our students.
Imagine always having to share supplies with other classes, your day gets interrupted often, waiting for one class to finish so that you may have a turn. Teachers lose valuable time waiting for supplies or borrowing from another teacher which creates the cycle again.
My Project
Writing and drawing are the first steps to early literacy. We want to provide our students with an endless possibly of writing and drawing. The old saying practice makes perfect is just what this project is all about. This project will allow the student to practice during writers workshop, math and science, without the waste of paper. Each student will have a whiteboard at his desk or chair pocket. They will not need to wait for a turn to use the whiteboard. This is reduce the quarrels of who gets to use next and allow whole group learning as well.
