Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager learners. They are full of life and love hands on activities. They are not only learning academics, but are learning how to communicate, share, and respect each other.
My students are very kinesthetic, hands on learners, who are always excited to try new things.
They enjoy working with the arts to learn academics and social skills. They enter kindergarten going, “What is a letter? What is a number?” to reading sight word books. They are a joy to work with.
We are a title one school. Most of my students are on free or reduced lunch. I also have many students in foster care.
My Project
Students of all levels will be able to use the alphabet letters and magnetic boards during reading center time with the teacher or an adult. Students will be able to work at their level. Some students will be learning letter names, others will be building three letter words, while more advanced learners will be building more complex words.
These items will help differentiate/individualize instruction for all students.
My kindergartners will build confidence in their early literacy skills. They will be able to correct misunderstandings with ease so they will not become discouraged. These resources will keep my kindergartners excited, interested, and engaged in their learning. Thank you for considering my project.
