Help me give my students hands on Montessori inspired materials in order to better help instill their understanding of science concepts!

Who are the students at my elementary school?
Impressive ones!
So many children take great care with their work. There is a genuine interest in wanting to do their best.
I often see kids working together looking back over their work with one another discussing strategy, asking each other questions, helping to edit and revise work. There is a determination to help each other, not just to get the right answers, but to understand and express to others "why" those answers are right.

Do you remember sitting in class being told to turn to page 49 of your textbook and to take turns reading aloud to the class and that was called... Science?
NOT ANTYMORE, today we understand that children need to See It, Touch It, Do It in order to better Learn It!
Anytime we can get materials into the studnets hands the better! Take the concept of Force and Motion for example. We can talk all day long about what makes something move forward and the difference between "force" and "motion" and just what is "friction" and some kids will learn. However, we won't get everyone!
In order to help ALL of our students understand this concept they need to be racing those cars down the hallway crashing them into the wall (it's fun an educational I promise). The concepts stick in their minds more clearly as they recall that car that they built, they set into motion using the force created by their body using the friction of their classroom floor to fly under Newton's Law until that wall appears.
In order to help ALL of our students learn about the human body we need to be able to put a human heart in their hands. Now I love my job, but I'm not about to find a real human heart each year. This is why the life sized torso is so perfect for my 5th grade classroom! Teaching students about the human body can be so much fun! I love talking about the intestines and how they are like a washing machine. I can describe the function of the body parts in a way that the students will not forget. However, to be able to See it, Touch it, and use it in a project... that's perfect for all!
