Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Kindergarten at a Title I Public school in Miami Dade. Our school is classified as a Title I because about 72% of our student population is on free and reduced rate lunch due to their economic status and come from single parent home.
No matter what obstacles they may have, my students walk in my classroom everyday with a big smile awaiting to see what the school day brings.
They are eager and excited to learn at all times, and I am glad I get to play a role in their daily life!
My Project
Students learn in different ways. English is my students' second language, they are visual learners, they remember things by sight. Using a document camera in the class will allow my students not only to see what I expect of them but also to see work samples from their classmates.
My students will be blown away when they see what they have written or drawn come to life on the smart board.
It is difficult for them to see all their classmates work. Having it up on the big screen will make sharing their work easy and fun!
Showing what they have written to their classmates will allow them to build self confidence and increase their self esteem!
