This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I start with my lowest students they have trouble reading and some with writing as well. They enjoy the praise it helps build there confidence, "All children can learn". I feel if I can give them something hands on it can improve their reading and writing.
The other part of my class need help with fluency, oral comprehension, rimes, and writing.
There reading is choppy no fluency with it. They track when reading however extra help that can see would help.
My Project
If I had letter sound materials it will help the students with alphabet recognition, writing their names, and forming words. Another material is software they can use on their computers. The use of whiteboards is used through reading and math and would help so that I don't have to walk to every student I can when they hold up their words. Supplies such a dry erase makers and erasers can be used in supplement with the dry erasers.
Hands on resources such as puzzle cards with blends, rhymes, compound, and making sentences will help with there reading and phonemic awareness.
