Help me give my students manipulatives for use in the classroom for a hands-on approach for these students with special needs. We also do online learning activities and the headphones are much needed too.

My Students

All of my students are students with special needs. They range from Pre-K through 12th grade. The majority of them struggle tremendously with reading skills and others with math. Some of them struggle with social and/or speech-language skills. A smaller number of them have Intellectual Disabilities. They live in a rural county, Jackson.

My Project

Many students are struggling at this time due to COVID. Those with special needs even more so than most. Choosing manipulatives to facilitate learning for students with special needs is not a simple task. Math and reading skills are essential for every student no matter the skill level and potential of each individual student.

These chosen manipulatives and materials will benefit students for many years to come.

Electronic technology is important so headphones are included in this project. Yet even more important to consider; most of my students learn best through a hands-on approach. Careful consideration has been placed in this selection of manipulatives to complement the limited resources that their classroom already possesses. This project selection will not only benefit my current special needs students but future students as well.
